Everything by Allison Cain

From 1 Corinthians 10:31-33

There is more than the obvious. We get so caught up in the traditional ways of glorifying God (ministry, worship, sharing the gospel) that we overlook the ordinary.

Do EVERYTHING for His magnification.

The big, the small, the mundane, the thrilling, the day-to-day, the special occasions, the eating and drinking, and sleeping. . . . . It can all be done for God’s glory when it’s done with a sincere, genuine, warm, free and whole heart.

Everything we do throughout the day can illuminate our adoration, honor, reverence, thanks and love of our Heavenly Father.

May all we – the grand and the minute honor and exalt His name.

Well and Whole By Allison Cain

John 14:25-28

Well and whole . . .

That’s what Jesus offers us, just as He did His very own disciples.

Peace filled.

That’s why I love Jesus! He never leaves things the way He finds them. He makes them exceptional and settles in and never leaves. He never abandons.

He makes all things new, beautiful, courageous, strong, and humble. He does this with His great love, lavish forgiveness, and gentle mercy.

That’s why I love Jesus.

He refurbishes all things. He loves, guides, and opens our eyes to the glory within us. His glory – that brings with it so much more than we could ever fathom or create on our own.

Well and whole . . . Peace filled

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

We have been led to believe our weaknesses are a disadvantage. They can be if we don’t approach them in the correct posture. Standing to fight them doesn’t work, sitting in acceptance doesn’t work, and neither does running in avoidance. But from our knees (and sometimes flat on our face), it’s a different story.

From our knees, we see our weaknesses from a different perspective. Through God’s heart and eyes, we realize that what we have seen as a flaw or deficiency gives us the capacity to allow God’s incredible strength and grace to fill us. It places us in a position to allow God to lead the way in our lives.

Limitations can bring despair or great humility, fragility or strength, whining or worship, anger or grace, criticism or appreciation. Today, in your weakness, God says, “ __(your name here)__, My grace is enough, it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.”

In Christ, the weaker we get, the stronger He becomes!

Don’t “Worry Your Prayers”

Standard
By Allison Cain (James 1:5-8)

“If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.” James 1:5-8

Worrying our prayers instead of boldy trsuting God with them is like living as a wind-whipped wave. Wilding out of rhthym, our mind in such a choatic frenzy, our emotions spill over like sea foam rolling across the sandy shores with no direction in mind. Uterally confused and bewildered about our next steps. Scattering depris on what is meant to be a peaceful shore.

When we worry our prayers, we push forward alone like untamed waves, still believing it’s up to us to make it happen, control the situation, and push forward.

When instead, it’s in the restful rhythmic calm assurance in the Savior that hope is realized through bold, but gentle prayer. The seas calm and the heart feels at peace once again – even in the storm.

It’s seem fitting to publish this on my Dad’s birthday. This is the first one he hasn’t been here to celebrate with us. Happy Birthday, Daddy!
