Same/Different . . . Trinidad

Standard

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7 NIV

I just returned from an amazing trip to Trinidad. I had the opportunity to lead the women of Grace Church in a 3-day retreat. It was such a blessing to be able to encourage them to grow closer to Him through His word and prayer so His whisper becomes more audible in this noisy chaotic world. These are two of my newest friends ~ Leah & Shevita (above). I think one of the things that stood out to me the most was how similar we all. No matter where you are in the world . . . no matter what your skin or hair color. . . .

No matter what kind of home you live in . . . shoes you wear . . . type of desserts you cook (here Patsy and I are mixing up the batter for a Two Egg cake in her living room). . . . how much you have or don’t have . . . as Christians . . .

we are all part of God’s family. All welcome at His table. All sisters in Christ. Striving to seek Him daily, hear His whisper, acknowledge and accept His forgiveness and let go of past mistakes. So, we may look different, talk different, seem different in many ways . . . . but really we are all weary, sinful servants trying to navigate the waters of this life until we reach our eternal home with our Heavenly Father.

Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. 12 May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 NIV

Thank you ladies of Grace Church for making me feel so welcome, so loved and so appreciated. You are a blessing to me and I’m so grateful God has woven our lives together. See you soon!

  1. I have been ministering in Trinidad since 2007. I just back from helping lead a team of 28 college kids from Asbury University and Ohio Christian University back in March 2013. I would love to connect with you and share our ministry and see if we could possibly partner on future trips. My email address is mikemason55@bellsouth.net.
